Beijing Chinese Restaurant in Benson

November 2013

For Wanda and I the ride to Benson for the November SEAT lunch was an easy 40 miles.  Our route took us over the San Pedro River in Charleston and again in St David.  There is still a nice Fall flow.  And Fall is definitely upon us.  All the trees along the river are in their final throws of changing color.  A real student of trees could easily tell which trees were which by their color.  Made for a nice ride.

As usual the parking lot was already filling up with bikes and SEAT members by the time we got there, and we were early!  Unfortunately the cook was late and the front doors didnít open at the advertised noon hour.  For a while there was talk about riding down to Bisbee and Jimmyís Hotdogs.  I think we were all too hungry to leave and held out until the cook showed up.

We were a hungry lot and were getting rebellious by the time the first orders came out of the kitchen.  As more plates and bowls were delivered there was time of silence as folks began to really dig in.  The portions were huge and the food was good.  The rebellion was put on hold.

A big SEAT Happy Birthday goes out to Al Maurine, a youngster in his mid-sixties.  Keep on riding Al.  No SEAT Anniversaries to celebrate this month, maybe next month.

A total of 26 SEAT members and 1 guest made it to the lunch.  It was nice to see some members who havenít been to a SEAT lunch in a while.  Tad Roberts, who hosted the First Annual SEAT BBQ, rode his K1600 down from Casa Grande.   Those K16 guys do cover some serious miles, don-cha know.
