May 2005 Lunch at
Melio’s Ristorante is located in what I call the Mission District. Right next door to Melio’s is Tubac with its historical landmarks. Lots of local art and jewelry as well.
Just down the road is Tumacacori, where you can tour a very old Spanish mission. The walk along the river is very relaxing.
But if you want to see one of the best examples of a still in use mission, go north from Melio’s to the San Xavier mission. Very elegant and you can attend Sunday Mass there.
And, it would have been easy to see them all on our lunch Sunday. The weather was beautiful, just made for motorcyclists to go out and about. And if you were real ambitious, Arivaca Road is one of the sweetest motorcycle roads around.
Summer is here and as the temps go up don’t forget to carry water and manage the heat. Folks new to Arizona need to be aware that too much sun and heat can really wear you out.
As you can see from the photos the lunch was well attended and it is always good to meet new members and ketch up with what some of the long time members are up to. Next month our club lunch will be the Overnighter in Springerville. Rooms are going, fast make your reservations now!
See you there!
