SEAT 12 Annual Overnighter in Springerville, AZ
The weekend before the SEAT Overnighter in Springerville the weather predictors were more than right saying it would windy. Riders on the way to the World Super Bike Races in Utah that weekend fought wind in the 60 to 70 mph range.
Needless to say when they predicted that it would be windy the weekend of 12-13 June, the weekend of the SEAT Overnighter, it was not a good sign. Several riders reported high winds and rain on Saturday. Sunday dawned bright and clear with no winds predicted, excellent riding weather! Good on everyone for getting to Reed’s Motor Lodge, SEAT HQ in Springerville, and home safely.
Once folks got to Reed’s they could relax in one of the oldest motels/lodges in Springerville. The rooms were clean and good sized, and the Gift Shop and Museum in the lobby had some interesting pieces that reflected the cowboy history of the area. The owners wanted us to enjoy our stay and want us back again.
The dinner Saturday night at Booga Red’s was a hoot. Their service was right on time and the food was good. Thanks to Iron Horse Motorcycles and Rick and Mary Lambert of ExplorerMoto some terrific door prizes were given away. New member Kelly Spicer (he joined that night!) won the Grand Door prize, an Icon full faced helmet. Lucky SEAT member Chris Frey and Mary Lou Dobbs, Herb Suessenbach’s guest, split the 50/50 drawing, $45 each! A good time was had by all!
