Longhorn Grill, Arivaca Junction, Amado, Arizona
It was Easter Sunday and we had a bunch of fellow SEAT members and guests come out to the Longhorn for an Easter Sunday lunch.† Good food and good company, thatís for sure.
†††† The Longhorn has paved their parking lot!† It made it so much easier to park under the horns and get a picture or two of all the bikes.† We do bring out such a collection of fine machines.† Never fails that a few bikes just riding by stop to see what is going on.† With so many bikes in the parking lot we are an attraction.† Ainít we kewl!
†††† Other than a bit of wind (this is Arizona) the weather couldnít have been nicer.† We are in the heart of the riding season in the desert with cool mornings and warm afternoons.† Enjoy them now for it wonít be long before we are into warm mornings and hot afternoons and boiling hot afternoons!
†††† It is always nice to see members come on their new bikes.† Menachem Lorber showed off his new ride.† We wonít tell anyone Menachem that you needed a new bike because of a bit of a get off on the old one...nope, wonít tell anyoneÖ
†††† Stan Thibaut was on his wifeís new bike, a 2007 BMW 800ST.† Nice of Stan to buy a new bike for Patti and then take if for a ride to break it in for her.† What a nice guy, Iím sure he is looking forward to Pattiís return from the middle east.
†††† This will be the last lunch for some of our Snow Birds.† Jill and Jeff Dean are gone by now and Marina Ackerson has left for the east.† Lloyd and Holly Schmidt are on there way to cooler parts, too.† Seems just about the time they were all leaving, winter came back to the east.† Sorry about that.
†††† Several riders took off for Arivaca and a cup of the Gadsdenís most excellent coffee after lunch.† Arivaca road is one of the best motorcycle roads around.† If you havenít ridden out to Hwy 286 and up to Three Points/Robles Junction youíre missing an excellent ride.
†††† Interstate 19 seems to be getting busier and busier every day.† Itís no wonder with all the new homes being built on both sides of the highway.† It is no surprise we are getting more and more members from the Green Valley and Vail area.
†††† Lots of rallies and riding coming up.† The MOA and RA rallies are always big events with loads of vendors.† There are always SEAT members at both.
†††† Summer weather will keep some folks close, while others will take off for the high country.† Be sure to take a couple of pictures and share your adventures with your fellow SEAT members.† It is amazing how far and wide many of our members travel in a single year.
†††† Next month is the SEAT Overnighter.† Everything is set, The Road Inn and Suites in Springerville is looking forward to seeing us again, and we now have† confirmation that Booga Reds will have the large side room set up for us Saturday night at 5 pm.
†††† After that we will do two breakfast gatherings.† Looks like July will be 9:30 a.m. in Patagonia at the Home Plate, now in the Stage Stop Inn Motel.† August we are looking at Bubbís Grub on Hwy 77 in Catalina, again at 9:30 a.m.† Clif Lines and Kate Albers recommended Bubbís and Bill Schink gave it a thumbs up as well.
†††† Thanks to all who made the lunch.† We look forward to seeing a few new members every lunch.† Ride safe and see you on the road.
