On October 19th, 2012 seven of the Friday riders headed for Kingston
NM. We planned to stay there on Friday night and then go on to
Alpine Arizona for the SEAT overnighter on Saturday. We would ride
home on Sunday.
We left Tucson early taking AZ77 to Globe and on to Safford. Then
over Mule Creek Pass to Silver City. Kingston is 60 miles east of
there over NM152. It is a tight winding road over the Black
Mountains. A great motorcycle ride.
We stayed at the Black Range Lodge. It is an old lodge that is
family owned. It is very rustic but a great place to stay. They do
not usually serve dinner but as there are no restaurants in the area
they fixed of dinner of hamburgers and hot dogs and all the
trimmings. In the morning they served us breakfast. We all enjoyed
hanging around the pool table in the evening.
If you are looking for a great short overnight destination with your
bike or you significant other this is the place.
